We are working as per IMO Resolution A.504(XII), A.849(20) and amendments A.884(21)) and A.1056(27), A.600(15), A.1192(33), MSC.428(98), MSC.428(98), A.584(14), A.872(20), A.916(22), A.947(23), A.802(19).
We provide a 24-hour maritime and coastal search and rescue emergency coordination and response service with coordination with Coastal State.
We provide maritime legislation and guidance and provide Intelligence and Investigation services to Maritime States around the world. Through our survey and inspection regime, we enforce standards for ship safety, security, pollution prevention and seafarer health, safety and welfare. We promote maritime standards, encourage economic growth and minimise the maritime sector’s environmental impact.

Our core responsibilities
- Co-ordinating a 24-hour search and rescue service with MRCC and Maritime Administration.
- Acting as lead authority and Category 1 responder for maritime emergencies under A.802(19) as per SAR Convention.
- Preventing maritime pollution and responding to pollution events.
- Monitoring vessel movement globally.
- Supporting the Ships Representative for Maritime Salvage and Intervention (SOSREP)
- Promoting and enforcing compliance with maritime rules, regulations and best practice, making sure that legislation is proportionate for maritime business.
- Undertaking the survey and inspection of world leading maritime registerer.
- Certification as independent survey organisations.
